Conference B

The raw materials base of the metallurgical complex: current state and outlooks
(The market of iron ore raw materials, coke, cast iron, scrap, and ferroalloys)

Thursday, October 18, 2007
KievExpoPlaza Exhibition Center

Organizer: Research and Information Center of Ukraine DerzhZovnishInform (DZI), Infor-Metal
Conference partner: 3 KOM PFK

In recent years, the market of metallurgical raw materials in certain global regions saw definite demand-and-supply imbalance. The obvious consequence was changed prices on a global scale. Possessing extensive local deposits of raw materials, as well as big local processing capacities, Ukraine’s metal sector still faces the raw materials shortage.
The conference treats transformations of the Ukrainian market of raw materials and the obstacles on the way of its successful development. Discussions will allow the conference delegates to find the possible ways of interaction, as well as to determine the position of the Ukraine’s metallurgical raw materials base in the global trade.

The following issues will be analyzed at the conference:
- the potential of Ukraine’s raw materials subindustries, the balance of demand and supply, the transparency of the Ukrainian market;
- the compliance of product quality with the up-to-date standards;
- investment attractiveness of the market.
The 2008’ outlooks will also be discussed at the conference.

Representatives of big ore mining and processing enterprises, by-product coke enterprises, metallurgists, manufacturers of mining equipment, traders, and representatives of sectoral ministries and organizations are invited to speak, give a report and take part in the discussions of the conference.

The program can be amended.
